About Me
Hey, what’s up!
I’m Justin — a UI/UX Designer.
I like to call myself a lazy perfectionist.
I want things to work exactly how they should, with the least amount of effort possible — which, let’s be real, is what every user wants too.
That’s why I design: to fix bad misunderstood experiences out of pure spite love.
I’m also naturally stubborn.
If something doesn’t make sense, I won’t accept it — I’ll keep questioning until I understand it or find a better way. That stubborn streak is what pushes me to improve products, processes, and even myself.
I don’t know everything.
And I won’t pretend to. I’ll ask the ‘stupid’ questions, because that’s how I get to a full understanding from top to bottom. Curiosity and honesty drive me just as much as design itself.
My Journey into Design
I’ve always lived at the intersection of creativity and logic.
My love for art and graphic design blended naturally with my strengths in math and science, but computer science felt too rigid. I wanted something more human, more tangible.
That curiosity led me to my first real taste of product design at YAZAKI, where I worked with cross-functional teams and, without realizing it, was already practicing UX research.
It sparked something in me — the drive to keep digging deeper and questioning how things could be done better.
To build on that spark, I enrolled in a UI/UX bootcamp, which gave me the foundation to turn my curiosity — and my stubborn need to fully understand things — into a career.
Teaching and mentoring have always been part of how I work, and my time as a Teaching Assistant at Microsoft gave me another space to put that into practice.
Later, at Workd, a fast-moving startup, I had to wear every hat: designer, researcher, and sometimes even project manager. That experience taught me adaptability and pushed me to thrive in the unknown.
Now, I’m channeling all of this toward the EdTech space — building learning tools that don’t just work, but inspire curiosity, make sense to the people who use them, and actually help education feel more human.
My Philosophy
Design and teaching are the same at their core: you listen, ask questions, and meet people where they are.
My job isn’t to have all the answers — it’s to stay curious, keep learning, and help others along the way.
I’m stubborn enough to challenge what doesn’t make sense, and humble enough to admit when I don’t know something. That balance is what keeps me grounded, and what keeps my work honest.
Beyond Design
When I’m not designing, I’m usually dancing — hip hop, Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba — whatever keeps me moving and learning. Dance feels like picking up a new language, and it reminds me that curiosity and growth should also be fun.
Outside of that, I love hiking, working out, and finding ways to enjoy life while staying creative.
Let’s Connect

I’m always open to connecting — whether it’s swapping ideas, collaborating on projects, talking design, or just sharing perspectives.
If you’re looking for a mentor, a teammate, or someone who’s not afraid to ask the tough (or “stupid”) questions, I’d love to chat.
